Member Spotlight:

Roger Stone’s son, Christopher, successfully completed U.S. Marine Corps Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Quantico, VA on August 1, 2026. Officer Candidate School is extraordinarily demanding – both physically and mentally. It is the 10-week “boot camp” for officers that prepares college graduates for commissioning as Marine Corps Second Lieutenants. Once commissioned, these new officers report to The Basic School (also at Quantico), which is a six-month course of study that prepares all Marine officers to be rifle platoon commanders. Christopher is following in Roger’s footsteps by beginning his career as a U.S. Marine Corps officer. Please congratulate Roger and his son when you see them around the Tree. Roger and his family are exceptionally proud of him!

Pro-Shop Tip Of The Month:

“Chipping off tight lies next to the green”

– Using a higher lofted wedge (60 deg or 58 deg)

– Make the club shorter

– Weight 60% of weight on the left leg (lead side)

– Keep your hands and arms relaxed and let your chest swing your arms back and forth

– Finish facing the target and watch it roll close to the hole

New Dimensions Wellness Club:

If you play here, you already know DD. He is our Director of Golf — the guy who has your number, your miss, and usually a fix before you finish explaining it. This month he let fellow members see how he resets after a long day on our course and preps his body for competition.

In a conversation filmed at New Dimensions Wellness, DD climbed into the cold plunge and talked recovery the way he talks golf with us: no fluff, just what works. “It’s a natural way to feel like I’ve had 10 cups of coffee,” he said. Then the line that sounds like every competitor who has played Orange Tree: “It’s hard. And that’s the point. You need to do hard things in life. You always need to challenge yourself.”

He left the receipt in the comments: 48 degrees, three minutes. It never gets easier, he added. That is the practice. Doing hard things makes hard things easier.

For a pro like DD, recovery is part of the job. Used well, cold plunges can sharpen focus, help you bounce back after 18, and train the same toughness that we need playing Orange Tree. It is a tool, not a miracle, and it belongs in a program built for your body.

We do that work every day at New Dimensions Wellness. If you want to keep playing Orange Tree the way you want to play it, come see us. The door is open.

Watch DD’s reel. Then come take the next step.
